THE JAMES TOWNSHIP ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS will hold a special meeting on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at 7:00 p.m.at the James Township Hall, 6060 Swan Creek Rd, Saginaw, MI 48609, to conduct a Public Hearing on a request for a variance to allow for a horse to be housed on the property. The property involved is 5695 Swan Creek Rd.

Owners of the property, Dave and Eileen Kaufmann, have petitioned for the variance to be granted to help with the sale of this property, for potential buyers who own a horse. The current zoning ordinance allows for one horse on 5 acres. During the Public Hearing, all interested persons will be heard relative to said application.
Written comments will be received concerning the request at the James Township Office before the date of the hearing. They can be dropped off during normal business hours or in the drop box, located outside.
